Weekend Wrap Up

Myself and about 7-8 clients ran the Junior League Downtown Derby 5K this weekend. The run went well...I ran a 23:09 and averaged paced at 7:42 per mile. I took half a 5 Hour Energy before the run...man was I up! I usually don't use caffeine, but it makes for a nice recreational drug for cardio work.

When I got home I had more work to do. We had Aggies coming over to help in the yard for "Big Event" so the boys and I stayed outside and worked for the majority of the afternoon. We ended up working in the yard for about 4 hours. I did spend about 30 min on my riding lawn mower...but the other 3:30 was spent weed eating, hoeing, edging, cleaning the pool, and getting the Big Event kids started on other projects around the yard.  The Big Event kids did a great job and helped pull weeds in flower beds, lay down landscape fabric around trees, put out some top soil on some low spots in the yard and weather treated the kids tree house...it was a huge blessing to have them here this year.

Sunday morning, my running buddy Ken and I ran 7.26 miles in 1:01 at a 8:23 average pace.

Food for today was...

Pre-Run 630a: Gala apple and half of a 5 Hour energy.
During Run: water and 100 calorie Expresso GU at mile 6.
Post Run 830a: Muscle Milk Shake and 3 energy nuggets (drank while getting groceries at HEB)

Lunch 1100a: Went to couples shower...outdoor grilling...I improvised and went with a water, an apple, 3 hot dogs with no bun, mustard, relish, 5 bean dip (salsa, beans, cilantro, onions, garlic) and gluten free crackers my wife brought. No chips, no cake, and soda...tough to do at parties.

Snack 330p: fage 0% with cranberries and small bit of wheaties fuel

Dinner 630p: Turkey fork burgers, 2 turkey burger patties, avocado, mustard, dot of catsup, 1/2 slice of colby jack cheese,  2 cuties.

Bedtime Snack 930a: 4 slices of Boar's Head Turkey, Frank's Red Hot, 8 oz 1% milk
