I've decided to start a blog to chronicle the aspect of my life that I spend 8-10 hours each day teaching to others; food and fitness. Again, this is not my entire life, rather a significant piece of what I do day in and day out.
I hope that you all find it helpful, insightful, and real. So, here we go...
Today was the first day after my first 1/2 marathon, so I decided to take the day off and not workout. The knee and foot on my left leg are pretty sore...so I'm going to give it a little break. Tomorrow, I'll hit the weight room.
My food went really well today. I've been cutting back on my grains and replacing those calories with more fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. The day went like this...
600a-Protein Shake
930a-Thai Cashews and Guacamole and Turkey Rolls (4 slices of turkey with 95% avocado in the middle)
1230a-Jennie-O Turkey Burger with Avocado on Whole Wheat sandwich rounds, grapes, and glass of 1% milk
3:30p-Total 0% Fage Greek Yogurt and cranberries plus 3 energy nuggets (honey, walnuts,
630p-Baked Chicken, Mexican Salad with guacamole and fage (sub for sour cream)
1000p-2 gala apples
I'll update tomorrow after the workout.
What are energy nuggets - they sound good! Are they high in calories?
ReplyDeleteThey are in the bulk section at HEB. All natural ingredients (walnuts, honey, almond butter, dates, etc) Serving size is one ounce at about 120 cal per ounce. Yes, you would have to be careful with the serving size.
